Ants are one of the most common pests we find scavenging in our homes. Typically it starts out with scouting ants, scurrying around and inspecting the area. Once the ants have established the home as a safe space to invade for foraging and nesting, that is when they begin to multiply.
Once colonies are established in the home, they can be quite difficult to get rid of. It is extremely important to not use over the counter products when having an ant issue. Over the counter products, will actually alert the ants, and cause the colony to fragment .
This means the ants will split up and make multiple satellite colonies near your home.
It is always good to contact your local exterminator when you begin to see scouting ants to get ahead of the problem. We have several techniques we can use to gain control of the ant issue, such as spraying, baiting and drill treating homes.
Each home is unique based on the activity level, and area affected, so we like to schedule inspections to confirm the type of ant(s) you have, and our best plan of attack to eradicate them.
Our professional products allow for effective extermination because they act as a transference to the ants. The ants are unaware of the product application, which allows the product to spread to the entire colony for elimination.

Odorous house ants are tiny little black ants. They emit a distinctive, rotten coconut-like odor when crushed. Odorous house ants are commonly found in homes, attracted to moisture and sweets.
Carpenter Ants are very large black ants, but can vary in dark brownish red. When carpenter ants are swarming, they can also have wings. They prefer to nest within wooded structures. Unlike termites, carpenter ants do not eat wood but do cause structural damage over time by burrowing and building colonies within wooden structures.
Moisture ants are small light brown, clear like ants. They can be commonly confused with odorous house ants. However the distinction between the two is size and location you find them. Moisture ants are typically found in high moisture areas like garden beds, or wet rotted wood. Typically if you replace the wet rotted wood, these little guys will move on in the environment and no treatment is needed.
